Funky Giraffe Bibs + Giveaway!

Since Archie has got closer to 3 months old I have started to notice he has been dribbling a lot, and we are pretty certain that he is starting to teethe! When I was asked to review some Funky Giraffe Bandana Bibs I couldn't turn it down as I know how great they can be. I was asked to pick 5 bibs from the website and if I am honest I found it really difficult, there are so many designs for boys, girls and gender neutral, that you can find one to go with every outfit, you can also get them personalised for that extra touch and to make a great gift for somebody, and they even do ones for special occasions which is awesome! So the 5 I picked was the Cream Dinosaur History Bib, a Pale Blue Plain Bib, White and Blue Vertical Stripes Bib, Light Blue and White Spots Bib and lastly the White and Red Horizontal Stripes Bib. They seemed to be the ones that would match Archie's current wardrobe, although I will be ordering more. I loved that the bibs were bright and colourful, I also loved the fact that you can come up with your own design and ask them to make it for you.

When I received the bibs the first thing I noticed was how soft they felt on the back, they have great absorbency as they have been tested out with dribble and sick, and I'm pleased to say that his top underneath has stayed dried which is the only thing I can ask for really. They come in 2 sizes, the ordinary size (as seen in photos) or they do an XL size which is great for an older baby/toddler. They also have 2 poppers on the back so you can adjust the size around the neck for the age of your baby, Archie has his on the smallest at the moment. I love that they not only complete his outfit but they do the job as well. They sell for £4 each which is a great price, and the more you buy the less they become which is great, so I will soon be placing a order for some more as I can tell with teething on the horizon we will be needing them! Funky Giraffe are also available in not only the UK but also in France, America, Australia, Spain, Italy and Germany. I have a friend who lives in America and Australia so I love that I have the option to order from the sites directly and get them delivered without having to pay the expensive overseas postage and also the worry of it getting to them as well.

Funky Giraffe are very kindly offering one of you the chance to win a set of 10 bibs in either girl, boy or gender neutral designs (They pick them) so to be in with a chance to win just enter below. * Closes 3rd July at midnight, for UK and Eire Residents *

Minbie Bottle Review

We was sent this bottle and teats from the Australian designed and owned brand Minbie, I have to admit I have not seen another teat like this, and I was really intrigued to give them a go and see how well Archie liked them. I love the idea of the teats coming in their own plastic case, it means you can keep them clean and protected from dirt if you was to put them in your nappy bag. The bottles are bought on their own with a collar and seal. We was sent the 6oz bottle (£4.50) and 2 sets of 2 teats in 0+ months and 3+ months. They also do them in premature and 6+ months which they all retail at £9.00 which is expensive for 2 teats but worth it in my opinion if you was to do breast and bottle combination feeding, or even if you are unable to breastfeed they work really well just like it says on the website, "For newborns who can not be breastfed, we created Minbie to allow them to bottle-feed with the instinctive breastfeeding technique that they are born with. Your baby can feed intuitively with Minbie with the technique that is developmentally correct that helps release digestive enzymes for proper digestion of the milk." The teats have been well designed to help you breastfeed and bottle feed your baby, the teats even help to strengthen a weak latch so it can also help if you are struggling to breastfeed. When we used these bottles Archie would still except my nipple afterwards, but once we used a Mam dummy and bottle teat he became fussy at the breast which led to us weaning him off of breastfeeding and also personal reasons too.

The only bad thing I have to say is that 7oz is the biggest bottle size they do, and well Archie is a hungry baby and has been on 8oz since before he was 2 months old so the bottle could only be used for such a small time. Although I am yet to see if the teat will fit on our Mam bottles as he did seem to like the teat and do well with it. Another thing I found was that the lid from the teats was meant to click on to the collar of the bottle so it was like a standard bottle, but I found that it would not stay on properly and would come off easily which wouldn't be good if you put it in your bag.

Archie got a good latch on the teats and you could see he had a good mouthful, if you are breastfeeding, combination feeding or bottle-feeding I think Minbie bottles and teats are great, they just need to make a bigger sized bottle! Check out the website for more information on them, they are worth looking at if you're unsure on if you want to breastfeed or bottle-feed, or if like me and want to breastfeed to start with and then wean onto a bottle. If we hadn't of already bought our Mam bottles I would of been really keen to buy more, but then we would have the problem of the bottles not being big enough for our hungry baby boy.

Finding Me Again

Now that I have had Archie and got the OK from the doctor at my 9 week post natal check I am now ready to get back into shape. After I had Isla I didn't worry too much as I knew we would be having another baby, but now we are not sure if we are having anymore and if we do it won't be for a while yet; so its now time to work and focus on ME.

Its nothing at all to do about size and a number on the scales, its about how I feel and how much I want to feel fit and healthy again, being able to push the double buggy up a slight hill without looking like a red, sweaty and out of breath mess. I want to feel strong again, I have completely lost all my upper body strength, and of course there are areas on my body that I do feel I need to work on and tone, like my stomach and thighs. I want to feel happy when I have my photo taken instead of deleting it once I see it and then feeling even more depressed with how I feel.

Im not one for dieting, never have been, I just cant do it. But I have decided to make some healthy choices on a daily basis, and also up my water intake as that can help with so many things, even my headaches. I want this to be a lifestyle change, not just a diet that I won't stick to for more than 5 minutes, I want to find me again and feel happy. Not just with the way I look, but making time for myself more often, taking a nice hot bath, going out with friends (child free) and also making time for me and Perry to be a couple instead of just Mum and Dad.

So to start with I am going to join the gym, its not for everyone but I am actually looking forward to going again, for me anyway its time on my own away from the kids so technically a night off, even if I will be working hard haha. I bought myself some workout clothes to help get me into it a bit more and feel more confident. I have started using my Fitbit again, it really helps motivate me to do more walking, and I also am part of weekly competitions with my friends to see who does the most steps on the Fitbit app.

I am going to pick one night a week to relax and spend some time on myself to paint my toe nails, read a book, have a hot bubbly bath, or just in bed on my phone. We are also going to introduce date night again every Wednesday, and this we take in turns to organise something for the evening, we mostly stay in and just buy a new DVD and takeaway, play Uno or Perry would run me and bath while cooking a dinner which we eat in candle light. We really need to enjoy being a couple again so Im looking forward to date nights again, and the most important thing is for the evening we turn our phones off and just enjoy each others company.

Im looking forward to this journey and will be documenting it along the way with progress updates, if you have recently had a baby or are wanting to get fit again please let me know as I would love some company along this journey. I have measured certain areas on my body and also taken photos so I can compare in a few weeks.

Siblings | July

Can I just say how happy and chuffed I am feeling for getting a photo of a 10 week old and a 2 1/2 year old both laying together, looking at the camera and smiling! I think these photos are up on the top of my list of favourite photos of them both together, I just love how happy and relaxed they both seem together. These 2 are getting on so well, now Archie is staying awake a lot more and smiling it definitely has helped Isla to bond with him as she can now make him smile and coo which she absoloutey loves to do, she gets so excited when she gets a reaction out of him.

We are loving the warmer weather and making the most of it with fun days out, and lots of play in the garden. We have also been letting bedtime be a little later so we can enjoy sunny evenings in the park playing with a ball and just all having fun and most importantly making memories.

Archie's 2 Month Update

Archie is now 2 1/2 months old and it has gone by so fast, he now weighs 14lb 2oz which puts him in the 75th percentile! We had our 9 week checks last week, but I am going to do a separate post for my post natal progress. He passed all the checks perfectly and the doctor mentioned he had great head control and was very strong as he was trying to sit himself up! He then went and had his first injections afterwards, I really wanted someone else to take him in for me but no one was able to, of course he cried... and then I felt really awful but know that its all for a good reason.

He is on 8oz every 4 hours and has 4 feeds a day, starting at 8:30am and ending at 8:30pm and then he sleeps through the night, I am so lucky he has been sleeping through for pretty long now. He is typically a really easy baby, the only time he is upset is when he is hungry or has wind. He is on Cow & Gate Comfort milk due to having problems digesting normal formula, Isla was exactly the same. I think I need to move him onto size 2 teats now as well.

He is now in 3-6 month clothing, he seems to have quite long legs and I really don't know where he has got them from, me and Perry both have to get short jeans! He will be wearing 3-6 month vests and sleep suits in within the next 2 weeks I'd say. I cant believe how quick he has grown and how chunky he is, he is literally solid and doesn't seem weak at all. We had to take out the wedge in his car seat as he was getting squashed and was starting to not fit in it properly, and soon I think we will need to take the head support out.

He loves looking at his toys, especially his mobile and ones that hang on his swing/bouncer, he smiles and coos at them. He is super ticklish, his feet are the worst he flinches if you even rub them! I have managed to get 3 little chuckles out of him, so I can tell he is getting ready for his first laugh which is so cute! He has been sitting in his bumbo, not for long and of course supervised, he can hold his head up really well and at least it helps with his flat head.

His eyes are blue, but I cant really tell you what is going on with his hair, I thought it was going lighter but now it seems to have stayed the same shade for a few weeks now. He has super light eyebrows so who knows what colour he will go. He looks so much like Isla as a baby, in some photos they look like they could be twins! He looks like her when she was around the 3-4 month mark as that was when she started to chunk up, so he is definitely bigger than what she was. I am so glad I only bought up to 3-6 month clothing as I think he may be a size up so the type of clothes would of been wrong for the season if that makes sense.

He is doing really well and everyday he seems to get bigger and bigger, I am so looking forward to watching him grow he seems so content and happy, we couldn't be happier.

Baby 2 Body New Mom Box

Baby2Body are a great company offering soon to be Mums and new Mums expert advise:
"We cut through all the information out there and boil it down so you get exactly what you need to know, on the day you need to know it. You’ll get unbiased, evidence-based advice and motivation to keep you going from day one of your pregnancy until your child turns three"
I was recently sent the 'New Mom' box from Baby2Body and was super excited to see what was inside, I absolutely love boxes like these as its a good way to find out about new brands and give their products a try. There are 3 different boxes to try out that will suit your needs, the first one is the 1st & 2nd Trimester box, 3rd Trimester Box and lastly the New Mom Box which is what I received, they are £29 with a inside value of £100!

When I opened the box I was so surprised with the sizes of the products, I was lucky to take this photo as Isla quickly snatched away the dino paws sweets and demanded me to open them. So straight off I knew this box was a hit for us! Apart from the Bear children's treats I have never heard of any of these brands so was intrigued to have a look. Laying on top of the products was a handy 'What's In The Box' guide showing you all the products and what they are used for and a little information about them so that was helpful, there was also a relax and reboot 5 step guide for you to try out too which was really good and helpful.

In my box I received a handy Baby2Body bag which I am going to use to put my gym bits in and also when I go to the shops I can use it to carry bits in, you can never have to many bags.

Bear dino paws which Isla really enjoyed.

Frame Chain to hang your glasses on so you cant loose them, its in a silver and gold colour.

Pukka womankind tea bags when I actually have a spare 5 minutes I will be having a cuppa and trying it out, its caffeine free which means you can drink it any time of the day.

Moo Goo scalp cream and lip balm, the scalp cream is such a good size (270g) so I will get plenty of use out of it and it smells lovely too! The texture is really nice and moisturising so I will be using it lots over the summer.

Mustela lotion and cleansing wash for Archie, they are a great size so I think I am going to save them for when we go on our holiday.

Aurelia firming and revitalising dry body oil, its a sample size so after I have used it on my belly mum pouch and tops of my legs there isn't much left, but its lovely to use as it doesn't make you feel to greasy.

Caudalie facial serum which is great for completion correcting so after long sleepless nights this is perfect for getting rid of dark areas and lightening them and lastly a

Rich luxury argan oil for your hair, I am yet to use this but I cant wait to try it out and use it!

These boxes are great gifts for someone who has just announced their pregnancy, baby showers, even a treat for yourself, a good idea for any new mum too.

Me & Mine: June 2015

June has been a big exciting month for us all as a family, we moved into our new home which we all love so much and have finally got properly settled into. Is it just me or has June felt like quite a long month? It seems like we done so much in one month, and the amazing heat wave has helped us to enjoy some special time together. I have enjoyed spending time in our garden, playing with Isla and having lots of BBQ's with friends and family, Perry's first Father's Day with two children, also June also was quite a sad month as Isla broke her wrist and 3 out of 4 weeks she has been in a cast, thankfully it is off now but it wasn't a great time for her bless. Archie has been smiling and is doing great, he has been putting on weight and has been such a joy to have around, Isla has fully adjusted to having her baby brother around now, she has also become so grown up, she is talking so much more now in sentences, she is doing so much new stuff and is generally becoming such a good little girl, she is so helpful and caring towards Archie, having him around seems to have really helped settle her down a bit.

Mummy & Me | June

This month has been crazy hectic, we moved into our new home and have been enjoying being a family of four on our own. Isla is loving having the space to run around and play, and has been loving having a garden to play in, especially in this lovely weather we have had recently. The bond between Isla and Archie has grown and grown more and I am feeling more proud than ever of my 2 beautiful children.

Isla is talking a lot more now in sentences and seems to have really changed these past 2 weeks, its like she has really grown up and adjusted properly to being a big sister, she just amazes me every day with how helpful and caring she is towards her baby brother. Archie has started smiling and cooing which is so rewarding, not just for me and Perry, but for Isla too, Archie is so in love with his big sister, he knows when she is around and gets excited, so when he smiles back at Isla the look on her face is truly priceless.

This month has been so lovely, we have been enjoying the garden, we have been going to the park, seaside, soft play and swimming, we have been so busy going out and also playing at home, our duplo collection has got even bigger, so has the wooden train set and we enjoy playing all together as a family.

I am struggling with getting photos of me and both of them, so this is something I really need to change, this was us just before a day out to the Zoo and splash work when Perry had a surprise day off from work.

Me and Isla love taking selfies together, she had broken her wrist here and had just got her new cast on.

This one is Archie and I at the splash park, it was so hot and he needed to cool down a little so I took him over to the fountain to wet his feet, surprisingly he didn't cry. Perry was taking these without me knowing so I think that's why I like it so much, we got some more photos but I will be sharing them on another post about our day out together.

I cant wait to see what July has in store for us and how much Isla and Archie will have grown!
